Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is this a High Definition (HD) camera?

No, the Telecam DXII is a Standard Definition (SD) camera system. It offers high-quality analog imaging (>450 lines) which is cost-effective and sufficient for many diagnostic and basic surgical procedures.

2. Can I use this camera for Laparoscopy?

Yes, while mostly preferred for Urology and ENT, it can be used for basic diagnostic Laparoscopy. For complex laparoscopic surgeries, we recommend upgrading to a 3-Chip HD system like the Image 1 Hub.

3. What is the difference between Telecam SL and DXII?

The Telecam DXII is a newer digital processing unit compared to the older analog SL II. The DXII offers superior digital signal processing, better white balance memory, and improved noise reduction for sharper images compared to the SL series.

4. What video outputs does the CCU have?

The Telecam DXII CCU provides analog outputs: S-Video (Y/C) and Composite (BNC). It does not have HDMI or DVI outputs. You may need a converter to connect to modern HDMI monitors.

5. What is the difference between PAL and NTSC versions?

PAL and NTSC are regional video standards. PAL (used in India, Europe) offers higher resolution (576i) but lower frame rate (50Hz), while NTSC (USA, Japan) offers lower resolution (480i) but faster frame rate (60Hz). M-Store supplies the PAL version standard for India.

6. Can I connect this to a laptop for recording?

Not directly. Since it has analog outputs, you would need a USB Capture Card (easy to find and affordable) to convert the S-Video signal to USB for recording on a laptop.

7. Is it compatible with flexible endoscopes?

Yes, the Telecam head has a standard eyepiece coupler that fits almost all rigid and flexible endoscopes (Olympus, Pentax, Storz) with a standard DIN eyepiece.

8. What is the benefit of a Single-Chip camera?

Single-chip cameras are lightweight, durable, and significantly more affordable than 3-chip systems, making them an excellent choice for clinics, mobile camps, and secondary setups.

9. Is the equipment tested before shipping?

Absolutely. Every Telecam unit undergoes a 50-point inspection by our biomedical engineers. We test color accuracy, white balance, and cable integrity before it leaves our facility.

10. Do you provide a warranty?

Yes, M-Store MedSurg provides a standard warranty on all refurbished equipment. We also stock spare parts for legacy systems like the Telecam to ensure long-term support.
